As one of our nation’s oldest democratic public spaces, libraries have become deeply integrated into our communities. They have gone beyond books and stepped in to meet a wide variety of social and civic needs. Libraries are always moving forward to come up with new innovative and creative programs to always engage, enrich, and enlighten all who participate. Our main goal here a KFPL is to be a safe and inviting center for our patrons and community. We welcome all to come and explore KFPL and our vast collection and numerous enriching programs for all ages! OUR MISSION The mission of the Kinsman Free Public Library is to be the community’s destination for engaging people, enriching lives, and enlightening minds. Roosevelt The new and improved catalog went live in October this year. Coinciding with a new CLEVNET app. We love the new search suggestions, consolidated search results, expanded filters, and read alike listings. Stop in and we will be happy to show you the new layout. KFPL’s website also received an upgrade this year. The new template provides for an updated look and offers improved features to meet accessibility standards. Visit kinsmanlibrary.org to explore. The Total Solar Eclipse on April 8, 2024 was a huge success with 270 people celebrating with us from as far as Washington DC, Maryland, and Virginia. We distributed approximately 500 pairs of eclipse glasses to residents and organizations within the community.

One such exciting program was a visit from Ohio author Mindy McGinnis (pictured below). Some other highlighted programs were the Total Solar Eclipse, Bluey Party, Five Nights at Freddy’s Pizza Pi Day, and the annual Summer Reading Program with a record 204 adult participants, 139 children, and 42 teens! We have many fun and creative ideas for 2025. Above all, it underscores the library’s dedication to engaging, enriching, and enlightening the community it serves.
