This pre-kickoff to the Summer Reading Program will include a collaborative mural and escape box game inspired by “The Dot” book by Peter H. Reynolds. All ages are encouraged to attend. Drop in to celebrate the start of Summer Reading with activities for all ages throughout the day! Color a tote and visit Traveler’s Coffee Company in the afternoon. Then, finish the day with gourmet grilled cheese and homemade sides available for purchase from Sandy’s Meltdown and live music from Jam Pact. Children can pick up reading tracking logs. Teens & adults can start tracking time spent reading on bookmarks. Our friends from Traveler’s Coffee Company will be parked at the Library select Wednesdays in June and July selling a wide variety of coffee, lattes, and seasonal beverages! Start tracking your reading on June 4 for a chance to win prizes! KFPL will have weekly themed programs and ongoing activities throughout the program! Return all reading and tracking logs by Friday, July 18 to be entered. CHILDREN, TEENS & ADULTS Join us for the "Color Our World" Summer Reading Program, where imagination knows no bounds and every page turns a new hue! Throughout the summer, participants will embark on a literary journey filled with activities that inspire creativity. "Color Our World" promises a kaleidoscope of reading experiences that will brighten your summer. Roll on into a book and let your imagination paint the world! Celebrate at our fun-filled finale for all ages! We will have live music, treats, and a chance to “color” the KFPL librarians!

The Scopes Monkey Trial was an American legal case which ran from July 10 to July 21, 1925. Learn about defense attorney Clarence Darrow, his connection to Kinsman, and his part in this landmark trial.
